Welcome to Reception

We follow the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage and provide children with the opportunities to learn through a play-based curriculum both in the classroom and outside. Learning is based around individual children’s interests alongside structured adult led activities. We ensure children gain strong skills in Communication and Language, Physical Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. Alongside these areas, children will build on early literacy and maths skills gained in Nursery. Through the year the children will work towards achieving the Early Learning Goals before they move to Year 1.
